This privacy policy informs you about how personal data is processed in our iOS application "Ka.I Companion." We do not operate our own servers for the app, there is no cloud upload and no tracking by us. Any data processing is always carried out locally on your device. In order to execute Siri voice commands, shortcuts, send messages and make calls, processing by Apple or your mobile phone provider may be necessary for system reasons (see section 6).

The party responsible for processing personal data is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, decides on the purposes and means of processing personal data.
No servers of our own, no cloud uploads by us, no tracking, no advertising.
All data processed by the app remains on your device.
No permanent background audio processing by the app: The iOS version does not use continuous wake word detection via the microphone in the background.
Emergency activation via Siri/shortcuts: The emergency is triggered via an Apple shortcut added by you, e.g., via Siri voice command or in the Shortcuts app.
Emergency functions: When triggered, a pre-formulated message (including your current location) can be sent to contacts selected by you and, optionally, a call can be made to a contact specified by you. The actual execution is carried out via iOS system functions; depending on your iOS settings, confirmation may be required.
Permissions are only requested for the functions described and can be revoked at any time in the iOS settings.
No profiling, no automated individual decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
The app is used to trigger an emergency workflow via Siri/shortcuts and then contact emergency contacts (message/call). The processing required for this is always carried out on the device; communication (message/call) is provided via system services.
Depending on the use of the functions, the following data categories are processed on your device:
Siri/shortcut triggering -- the app receives the trigger as an action/intent; audio data (your voice) is not recorded or stored by the app. Voice processing is performed by Apple (see section 6).
Location data (precise/approximate) -- to embed the current location in an emergency message; no location tracing/logging by us.
Contact data (from your address book or stored manually) -- for selecting/using your emergency contacts; no synchronization or transmission to our systems.
Communication data (message/telephony) -- for triggering the sending of a message or a call via iOS system functions; you determine the content and recipient.
Notifications -- for local status display (e.g., notifications within the app).
We do not specifically process special categories of personal data (Art. 9 GDPR).
Permissions are requested contextually via iOS system dialogs. Depending on the function, we base processing on consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) and, in emergencies, on vital interests (Art. 6 (1) (d) GDPR). Where necessary, legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) may also apply -- for example, to ensure the stability and security of the app without external transmission.
The app may request access to contacts (depending on implementation) in order to select and contact your emergency contacts. No copies, synchronization, or transmission to our servers will take place. Legal basis: Consent (a), contract (b).
The current location can be determined on-device for an emergency message. We do not track or record location history. Legal basis: Consent (a), contract (b), in an emergency (d).
The app can send notifications to display status and security information; you can control this in the iOS settings. Legal basis: Consent (a).
The emergency alert is triggered via an Apple shortcut added by you, which is started via Siri, for example. The app does not process any audio data; voice processing is carried out by Apple. Legal basis: Contract (b), consent (a) (as provided for by iOS), in an emergency (d).
The app or shortcut triggers the sending of a message and/or a call via iOS system functions. You determine the content and recipient. Depending on your iOS settings, confirmation may be required for execution. Legal basis: Consent (a), contract (b), in an emergency (d).
Note: Some core functions cannot be used technically without the respective authorization. You can grant or revoke authorizations later; the app will adjust its functionality accordingly.
No transfer to Ka.I Health servers: We do not operate any app servers to process your emergency data; no upload to us takes place.
Recipients of emergency communication: When you send an emergency message or initiate a call, the emergency contacts you have selected are the recipients of this communication.
System-related service providers: Apple and your mobile phone provider or messaging/telecommunications services may be involved in the technical provision of Siri voice commands, shortcuts, sending messages, and making calls. The processing that takes place in this context is the responsibility of the respective providers in accordance with their own privacy policies.
No external SDKs/trackers by us: The app does not use any analytics, advertising, or crash SDKs (e.g., Firebase Analytics/Crashlytics, Facebook SDK).
Third-country transfer by us: We do not transfer any app data to third countries. System-related processing by Apple may take place independently of this in accordance with their terms and conditions.
The app only stores what is necessary for its use (e.g., local settings, emergency contacts/configuration, text templates) on your device.
Persistent data remains only on your device and is deleted when you:
System backups: Operating system backups (e.g., iCloud backup) can back up local app data without our involvement; this is subject to the terms and conditions of the respective provider.
We take state-of-the-art technical and organizational measures, including:
Depending on the requirements, you have the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection.
Since we do not process any data on our own servers, you can usually manage and delete the relevant content yourself (e.g., via app functions, app uninstallation, or iOS settings).
To exercise your rights, please contact us using the contact details provided above.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, your place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement.
Our app is not intended for children under the age of 16, unless it is used with the consent of a parent or guardian and/or is necessary to protect vital interests (e.g., emergency functions).
There is no automated decision-making, including profiling, in accordance with Art. 22 GDPR. The triggering of the emergency serves solely to execute the function initiated by you (Siri/short command) without any personal evaluation by us.
We may amend this privacy policy if functions, legal frameworks, or technical standards change. The current version displayed in the app or store applies.
If you have any questions about data protection, please write to us at:

Please indicate in your inquiry that it concerns the iOS version of the "Ka.I Companion" mobile app.
Triggering via Siri/shortcuts: The emergency is triggered via a shortcut you have added (e.g., via Siri voice command). The app itself does not perform continuous background microphone detection.
Voice processing: Voice commands are processed by Apple as part of Siri usage; the app does not receive any audio data and does not store any voice recordings.
Emergency message/call: You determine the content and recipients. The location is only determined for the respective message and is not logged. This is carried out via iOS system services; depending on the device settings, confirmation may be required.
